Its surprise for me that there are several lovers of chess in Pakistan. Today when I was checking my mail box I found an email from one of my social network about the Issues of Chess Fedration of Pakistan. I whould like to share it with you, but before sharing I must tell you the after reading this email where I was happy to know about the chess lovers in Pakistan, I was also sad because this fedration was also affected by corruption. I don’t know why people think for the short term. If they think about the long run it will also give benefit to their children. But here in Pakistan case is bit different, here people at any position (from lower-lower poor class to upper-upper rich class) they try to grap the things like money, property etc etc they dont think that they can’t take these thing when they die, not even those for whom they are grabing i.e. their generation.
Well come to the point about the issues of Pakistan Chess Players Association I am share that email with you and you will understand the whole scenario:
Pakistan Chess Players Association (PCPA) has been disappointed by the decision of Chess Federation of Pakistan (CFP) by “secretly” removing the name of International Master, current and 11 times National Chess champion Mahmood Ahmed Lodhi (Gujranwala) from the squad, to represent Pakistan in the 3.2 West Asian Zonal Chess Championship to be held in New Delhi, India.
“This is scandalous” says National Master and PCPA Chairman Hanif Qureshi, no one understands why the “One man show” at CFP is trying to keep the current national champion out of an event which has great importance for Pakistan .
He has also condemned the way CFP has treated National Master Mohammad Waqar, who is number 3 in the national ranking, and was supposed to be representing Pakistan in case of Mahmood’s absence.
International Master, Shahzad Mirza, who is the Secretary General of PCPA, shown its disappointment, in the way CFP is dealing with the chess affairs of the country. Chess players and other chess lovers are calling from all over the country to express their frustration of the current situation.
He further added that the Chairman PCPA wrote a letter to CFP president some 2 months back regarding the appointment of a rating officer for the upcoming PCPA international Rating Chess Championship, which was to be held in Karachi, not only that CFP did no answer the letter but they did not even bother to acknowledge the receipt. Because of CFP discouraging attitude PCPA had to be postponed this Championship till November this year.
PCPA is addressing a letter to Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) in protesting against the “merit killing policy” of CFP officials against Mahmood Lodhi and Mohammad Waqar.

انھوں نے کہا کہ شطرنج کو بجا طور پر ذہانت کا کھیل کہا جاتا ہے مختلف ممالک کے دعوؤں کے برعکس اور دستیاب شواہد کی بنیاد پر شطرنج کا کھیل ہزاروں سال پہلے پاکستان کی وادی سندھ میں پیدا ہوا. انھوں نے کہا کہ ہمیں اپنے heritage سے واقفیت کے ساتھ اس کے فروغ کے لیے بھی کام کرنا چاہیے. انھوں نے کہا کے شطرنج کا کھیل ایک ایسی ذہنی تفریح ہے جس سے ہر عمر کے خواتین و حضرات جن کہ تعلق کسی بھی زبان علاقے اور ثقافت سے ہو، یکساں طور پر لطف اندوز ہو سکتے ہیں یہی وجہ ہے کے عالمی سطح پر اس کھیل سے دنیا کے تقریباً تمام ممالک وابستہ ہیں اور شطرنج کے عالمی مقابلے تمام عمر کے لوگوں کے لیے، جن میں بچے اور خواتین بھی شامل ہیں، پوری دنیا میں منعقد کے جاتے ہیں. شطرنج کا کھیل دنیا کے لوگوں کو ایک دوسرے کے قریب لانے میں اہم کردار ادا کر رہا ہے اور پاکستان میں بھی یہ ایک بہت مقبول کھیل ہے جسے انڈور کھیلوں کا بادشاہ کہا جاتا ہے.جناب حنیف قریشی نے کہا کہ موجودہ دور کی مشکلات کو مدنظر رکھتے ہوے شطرنج کا کھیل ایک سستی تفریح بھی فراہم کرتا ہے اور اپنے کھیلنے والوں کو تحمل، برداشت، منصوبہ بندی اور حکمت عملی بھی سکھاتا ہے. انھوں نے اعلان کیا کے پنجاب شطرنج چمپین شپ میں حصہ لینے والے بچے اور خواتین کو فیس سے مستثنیٰ قرار دیا جاتا ہے تاکے بچوں اور خواتین کے عالمی مقابلوں کے لیے جن میں پاکستان شرکت نہیں کرتا پاکستانی ٹیم کی شرکت یقینی بنانے کے لیے با صلاحیت خواتین اور بچوں کی حوصلہ افزائی کی جا سکے.انھوں نے مزید اعلان کیا کہ NH گروپ اپنے اس پروگرام کے تحت جس سے وہ معاشرے میں صحت مند سرگرمیوں کی حوصلہ افزائی کرتے ہیں مسقبل میں بھی کھیلوں کے فروغ کے لیے تعاون کرتا رہے گا اور وہ امید کرتے ہیں کے ملتان کے دیگر کاروباری ادارے اور افراد بھی کھیلوں کی مختلف صحت مند سرگرمیوں کی حوصلہ افزائی کرتے رہیں گے تاکے پاکستان میں ایک اچھے سماج کی تشکیل کی جا سکے.
