Benazir Bhutto Monument – Cost PKR 1 Billion

Pakistan the  country where majority of the people are living below the poverty line and where parents sell their children before committing suicide because they can not afford food to feed them, this is because of the gift given from US (so called war of terror). This time when the people of Pakistan is crying for basic needs i.e. roti, kapra and makkan (food, clothes and shelter)

PPP Government is all set to build a Benazir Bhutto monument at the cost of Rs 1 Billion in Liaquat Bagh Rawalpindi (the place where Benazir Died). The PPP was founded with the slogan of “Roti, Kapra and Makan”. The founding slogan has lost its meaning as the party has failed to achieve this goal and instead wasting the national wealth on glorifying its late chairperson Benazir Bhutto.

According to Dawn newspaper story:

ISLAMABAD, Dec 26: The government is all set to build a Rs1 billion monument at the site in Rawalpindi city where former prime minister Benazir Bhutto was assassinated in a gun-and-suicide bomb attack on December 27, 2007; sources told Dawn.

Though the monument would be built in the historical Liaquat Bagh, which falls under the administrative control of the Punjab government, the federal government would provide the fund for the project.

Leader of the house in the Senate Nayyer Bukhari is heading a steering committee which has been given the responsibility to oversee the project. Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani is expec

ted to perform the ground breaking at the site on Sunday, marking the second death anniversary of Ms Bhutto.

Faisal Warsi, who deals with public relations of Senator Bukhari, said a Karachi-based architecture company, ARCO, had been tasked to design the monument.

In response to a question, Mr Warsi explained that construction of the project would cost around Rs1 billion and the federal government would be bearing all the expenses.

Explaining the main features of the monument, he said its entrance would be called Bab-i-Benazir and would have a tower in the centre surrounded by a water pool. A special wall called Dewar-i-Awam would be built with Daughter of the East inscribed on it.

Is this how they (PPP) think they can glorify the personality of late Benazir Bhutto? Is this how an Islamic State is suppose to act? I wonder on what basis our government will justify this cost?

My question is that did we need Benazir Bhutto Mounment this time? or we need Roti, Kapra and Makkan???

Zardari is behaving as,” WHAT GOES OF ME AND MY FATHER” by misusing Pakistani assets and whole peoples party is blind. When they found that are getting in a corner due to their misdeeds they started playing Sindh Card.

So far Zardari has behaved as the head of Peoples Party and not as head of State.

Interior Minister is unable to hear the remarks uttered by Zulfiqar Mirza.

Raja Riaz needs a big bamboo in his ass.

Allah Ki Lathi bay awaaz hoti hai. Allah will take care of this nation.

Why not we have made the monuments of Quaid e Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah who gave us the Pakistan? or Allama Mohmmad Iqbal or Shaheed e Millat Liaqat Ali Khan who was also killed in the same park (liaqat bagh)

laughter laughter…banazir vs quaid…jinnah was a man of caliber, what was Bhutto, she or her father could not handle afghans or Indian in the region but Jinnah did this by visiting pashwar once in 1946, that’s Jinnah…how many projects did they both started in their whole tinuor, Jinnah started more than 13 including national bank, state bank, and many more in 1 years only. look at the pays, both enjoyed a lot of pays but Jinnah got only 1 rupee, now come to books, both Bhutto have only 2 books daughter of east and freedom, myth or reality that’s all.. Jinnah whole life is book, in his life more than 3 halls were named after him, more than 100 books, more than thousand periodicals were written on him, including big names as viceroy and Lt. governor or lady mount batten all wrote on him. Jinnah is a man, whom any one can say..super man,,,

    simply

“badnam hooye to kaya nam na ho ga”

if u will sit to compare that whats she has given to Pakistan in lieu of what she got from Pakistan, you will find nothing………..

Dont count her exile, imprisonment, death of her father, brother or anything else as her sacrifice………if she had suffered from any of these…….she never dare to come into this dirty game of politics……..victimizing and flattering politics………..mager……..yeh hakoomat ka chaska hi bura hai…………..

un ki tareef kaya poochtey ho, umer sari gunaho mein guzri
parsa ban rahey hein woh aisey jaisey ganga nahaye hooye hein.

on contrary, if you sit and count what Quaid has taken from Pakistan in lieu of what he has given, you will find only the miserable “death”………..the one who sacrified his entity for Pakistan, he was died in pittiest way…………..

Comparing Jinnah with Bhutto is similar of comparing Shaheen to Kirgus…….its a direct insult to the personality of Jinnah and highly condemable……..

  5. Ishaq Awan says:

because we learnt from past mistakes and in future we shall make monuments for every one……..by the ways No one was so famous all over the world as much Benazir Shaheed is….not even Mr. Jinnah…… …if you go outside pakistan you wont find books on Mr. Jinnah or Liaquat ali khan but u wil definitely find books on Mohtarma and some times Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto shaheed as well.

  9. [...] and our so called democratic government has made a wise decisions at this time by approving the Benazir Bhutto Monument project of worth $11 [...]

  10. Sultan says:

Compounding the unspeakable personal tragedy that has befallen
Pakistan, with one fifth of our country under water in the greatest
floods in our history that have put almost five million people out of
their homes, there are those within Pakistan and abroad who would seek
to exploit this humanitarian disaster for political gain.
Unfortunately, the Huffington Post enabled this base, moral outrage
when it ran Shirin Sadeghi’s September 9, 2010 posting, “$11-Million
Monument to Benazir Bhutto: APPROVED,” which is an unfortunate but
obvious part of an ongoing nasty campaign against the democratically
elected PPP government that preceded the floods and will probably
continue long after the waters have receded. There will always be
those, in almost any society, who will actually believe almost
anything said about the political opposition while Shirin Sadeghi is a
lucid example. I dont know which sort of haterd he has in his heart.
No one can forget the great sacrifice of Benazir Bhutto Shaheed. Why
Sadeghi fail to recall the courageous life and democratic achievements
of the popular leader at the launch of a documentary on her
life.Benazir Bhutto gave the people a hope for future of their
country.Sadeghi’s post has nothing in it except a recycling, with a
clever twist, of information from the announcement about the plans to
build a memorial to honor the former Prime Minister announced two
years ago. The twist in the story is somehow connecting the cost of
the project to the current flood situation, thereby intentionally
making the government look insensitive and indifferent.
