All Pakistanis pledge allegiance to the flag of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and to the Islamic Republic for which it stands, one Nation under Allah, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all according to the principles laid down in Holy Quran and Sunnah.

Let us have a Pledge of Allegiance so that we all pledge allegiance to our  Republic, not to dictatorship or a fundamentalist democracy. “Republic” is the proper description of our government, not “democracy.”

I invite you to join me in raising public awareness regarding that distinction.  The distinction between our Republic and a democracy is not an idle one. It has great legal significance.

The Constitution guarantees to every province and region up to district level a Republican form of government.

Our Republic is one dedicated to the Islamic ideals of morality and also “liberty and justice for all.” Minority individual rights are guaranteed. The people have fundamental rights instead of civil rights. The people’s fundamental rights re protected by the constitution. The ambiguity of protection from the majority in National Assembly to the minority in NA but majority at assembly provincial and divisional level must be clarified by proper constitutional amenedment. In the absence of such
protection the concept of Republican form of governance is obscured.

The Bill of Rights somewhat like in US constitution may be included in our constitution.
