The lead anchor and Chief Editor famous TV program and Magazine Hasb-e-Haal Aftab Iqbal, has left the program. The reason was not disclosed but it was due toa dispute with the owner of Dunya TV channel Mian Aamir Mehmood, Chairman Punjab Group of Colleges (PGC) and Vice Chancellor of Muhammad Ali Jinnah University (MAJU) and University of Central Punjab (UCP)
Sources told us that Aftab, after a quarrel with Mian Aamir, has left Dunya TV but he was later requested many times by the management to re-join the program Hasb-e-Haal but Aftab Iqbal simply denied the request by saying he is not interested any more.
Hasb-e-Hal is now joined by a new anchor Junaid Saleem, he is the owner of an Urdu Newspaper Daily Insaf Lahore.
Azizi and Najia the co hosts of the program have also threatened that if Aftab will not join the program within days they will also quit this program as they are not ready to continue this program without Aftab Iqbal.
Aftab has also warned the owner of the TV channel to change the name of this program as the rights of this name Hasb-e-Hal are owned by Aftab Iqbal.

BTW Mian Amir did it again. He did similar thing way back in 1994 when PICS (Punjab Institute of Computer Sciences) got popularity in the private sector in Lahore, he moved/merged it with PCBA(Punjab College Of Business Administration). Hard working teachers of PHD level were let go and standard of PICS took a nose dive.
Seems he did it similar kind of thing with Hasb-e-Haal now..
The new guy has no chemistry with Azizi and Najia. If Aftab doesnt come back I think they will probably take the show to another channel. Whatever it is it should be solved ASAP so that we can get back to normal viewing!

Aftab Iqbal has left Dunya and the lates episode with the new host Junaid Saleem was an absolute disaster.
Nusrat Javed hosted an episode of Hasb-e-Haal last week, I was wondering how would you guys like to see Nusrat Javed become the permanent host if Aftab Iqbal doesn’t return?
Nusrate is a seasoned well respected jouranlist and is well exposed to Pakistani and International politics and I think he would make a good replacement and he can add new segments based on his style, and he wouldn’t have to deal with Mushtaq Minhas

I like Nusrat Javed. But not in Hasbe Haal, replacing Aftab Iqbal. I loved watching Hasbe-e-Haal. It will be unfair to give the credit of all success to only Sohail Ahmad. Aftab Iqbal was behind the whole idea and both Aftab Iqbal and Sohail Ahmad (Azizi) complement each other. I won’t be watching this program any more if Aftab Iqbal does not come back. Original is original and after such a great success, shame on Dunya TV management to lose Aftab Iqbal.
I guess I will go back to Tallat Hussain and Hamid Meer.
i think aftaab and Dunya TV management main clash “media establishment” ne karwaya hai.. coz this show was much much rated than all others..
This programme is the brain child of Aftab Iqbal . he is writing his colum hasbehaal for many years .
This is the only show that I watch from USA, and the reason was Aftab Iqbal, I think Aziz and Najia should take a stand and leave the show too or bring Mr. Aftab Iqbal back. I don’t have anything against Nusrat Javed, but he seems fake and it would be impossible to fill his shoes. I request the management of Dunya TV management to do the right thing and bring him back.
I think some group like GEO will hire Hasb-e-Haal team. They will run program in true letter and spirit as it was on DUNYA TV, hosted by Aftab Iqbal
Conspiracy theory says the real reason of all this is a better offer from some other channel. Nobody will see the program without Aftab and the name of the program belongs to Aftab too. It is true that the character of Azizi is the spice of the show, but all the facts which are delivered by this character are actually coming from Aftab Iqbal’s research and investigative journalism.
Guys! We don’t know what the heck has occurred between management and Aftab Iqbal. May be Aftab had tried to hijack the management by demanding uncertain things which could not be acceptable.
Anyhow lets try another host as his replacement. May be new one does more better. Sometimes, change make things improve. So let it go!!!
hasb-e-haal becomes a crap without aftab iqbal bcz he is the only host who leads the program in the right direction aftab iqbal works tremendous whether its abt dialogue wd history,wake up call,or the pronounciation azizi is good najia luks sweet bt above all aftab iqbal is really the captain of the ship. i am nt goin to watch it anymore if the real captain doesnot come

ITS UNFAIR to run this programme without Aftab Sir because he is connected with this idea for last 16-18years i have been read his columns in nawa-e-waqt since my child hood .this programme will not be rated any more with out Aftab sir.

Complet disaster. Without Aftab program is nothing. Its fact that most important and interesting character is Azizi but It was Aftab Iqbal who wass controling the program. New host is a complet failure. He is not doing Ansaf with the program. Soon Dunya TV will see that inspite of Azizi people will stop watching the show. People give the popularity to the show and these type of decisions are just doing the insult of the people.

Who could have liked Aftab Iqbal more than me? I was angrily up, to blast out against his exit from Hasb-e-Haal. But just felt ashamed at what I heard from very credible resources. The dominant Aftab Iqbal threatened the CEO of Dunya news to put the prestige of the channel on stake by ruining the most informative, humorous, fairly-political and widely and happily accepted program “Hasb-e-Haal”. He was never later requested to come back again and rejoin. Tell me what, if a man disrespects the employer over monetary dispute (the most cheap thing), should the employer be considered to call back again that rotten melon? Aftab disrespected Azizi too. Man! Azizi is the heart of the show. Do you think that this could have made the CEO happy?
C’mon Guys… Anchors and hosts are just the face of the channel. The real credit goes to the researchers and hard workers behind the scenes (the heart and brain of the channel) who worked day and night for the success of that show. They shouldn’t get abused, as Aftab tried to do so. The heart of the show “Great Azizi” is still there. Behind the scenes, Azizi is also a victim of Aftab’s arrogance and that’s what the CEO of dunya news really disliked. This show is heavily backed by a huge public demand, and they will never let its taste ruin. Topics of the program are chosen current affairs which attract public interests, which make it an “ever green” show.
Dunya News exposed an un-known man (Aftab) to the heights of the popularity. And he, due to consequences of his deeds lost that position which he earned through the channel.

The chemistry will soon be up between Azizi, Najia and the new Host. Don’t Worry. This show will always be at heights of popularity. Some Times changes are for good. And this change should be considered in favor of Hasb-e-Haal. Soon U Guys will realize.
Big companies do not depend upon one person. Dunya TV should hire other host. After getting fame most people do like that….
I will stop watching Hasab Haal program if Aftab Iqbal does not come back ,This was the only program which I always looked forward to watching on TV.

Hasb e haal and aftab are to be must for each other. I am reading his column in nawai waqat for the last so many years. This programme is his brain child. I think mian amir should think wisly and should bring back aftab to this show.
For sohail and najia this is not good to run this show without aftab. they should protest and should join the hands of aftab in this time of crises.

If you are from the management of Dunya TV then communicate the feelings of everyone to higher management and keep it in mind that Hasb-e-Haal was the only good programme was being watched by viewers on Dunya TV. All other programs are pieces of crap. Tell them that you are going to face a very tough financial crisis without Aftab Iqbla. It will be better to understand in early stages. Aftab is a very talented person and he can make his place on any other channel and he can ask Sohail Ahmed and Najia to rejoin him or I am 100% sure if he can discover Azizi in Sohail Ahmed then he can discover Azizi in some other good actor. I 100% agree that this program is brain child of Aftab and Dunya TV will have to change the name of this show because Aftab Iqbal has the copy rights for Hasb-e-Haal, which will bring it on zero.

i am surprised to know that Aftab has lest the show….. Aftab is a man of Rules and principles, he will never come back in Dunya News. My suggestion would be join another Group to resume show with the whole team… i was a great time with Aftab…… God bless him

For all U guys….. I am a genuine fan of the show. Not the faces they show. It doesn’t matter who is sitting in there. If the show is still providing the same sensation, then what problem do u guys have to watch it. What is particular in the name Hasb-e-Haal. When this show was in it’s early ages, did anyone of u knew that how this show will go in future? Aftab was then unknown. Just like the new host. Give him a go. He will do the best as he is expected to. What do u think.. doesn’t the channel know the importance of their show? Would they let it’s rating down? No… They will be thinking to make it better than previous. What do u think, doesn’t they know what loss Aftab did by leaving the channel inadequately? My credible resources told that he demanded far more than he was worthy for. And when his colleagues and show mates tried to calm him, he disgraced them too. He deserved that kick. C’mon guys… be realistic. He don’t deserve to be there any more. He blackmailed and disrespected his benefactors who gave him and his Hasb-e-Haal the worldwide exposure. Who said that Aftab was an unknown person? He is writing Editorial Column with the title of Hesb-e-Haal, he is chief editor of a Magzine called Hesb-e-Haal and the very program title/ idea and co anchors all were his idea (brain child). What so ever the reason was at least program title belongs to him, Dunya TV should change the Title. And in the end he belongs to a very respectable, educated and well known family of Okara/ Sahiwal area. Please do your home work before bashing anyone.
