Mobile Phones a Need or Waste of Time & Money?

While Reading BBCUrdu.com I came to very interesting report which target the very basic problem in our society. Yes I am talking about the “Mobile Phones”. I still remember when we did not have any phones then our work were done effectively and efficiently. Then what happened now? Why we cannot live without mobile phones? Is this a basic need?

I know many people who were living very tough life, some times they had not enough money to fulfil basic needs but still they have very expensive mobile in their pockets.

This special report prepared by Geeti Ara for BBC Urdu  on use of cell phones in Pakistan is very informative. It discusses the issues that how cell phones penetrated into local market, and why people buy expensive cell phones while basic telephony is possible with very inexpensive mobile  handsets.

It also discusses that voice and SMS packages are wastage of time, as necessary communication can be concluded with-in minutes – then why do people talk for hours with no particular agenda in hands?
