Today Fox News published a report on Pakistan and refereed to it as Pornistan claiming that it is “No. 1 Nation in Sexy Web Searches”. Whatever keywords Fox News has mentioned are factual and not made-up.
Kelli Morgan writes “Google ranks Pakistan No. 1 in the world in searches for pornographic terms, outranking every other country in the world in searches per person for certain sex-related content”.
I don’t deny the fact that Pakistan ranks 1st on these keywords. I also don’t deny the fact that porn is popular in Pakistan. However, I deny that Pakistan is “No. 1 Nation in Sexy Web Searches” as claimed by Fox News.

Fox News is an american channel know for creating baseless conspiracies especially against Muslim world. Porn searching is a global issue, why to ‘pin point’ Pakistan. In Pakistan, only less than twenty percent people are computer literate and using internet. On the other hand, biggest source for Porn and all the related stuff is US itself. Most movies are recorded in US. Interview any Pakistani, and he will not know much of the terms used in this industry. As a marketing student, I can guess, that ‘supply’ of such material follows the demand only. Since US is the biggest supplier, it has the biggest demand. No data has been given for usage of credit cards to view porn. I guess US will top it. It’s the country with highest abortion rate and highest teenage pregnancies. Porn industry is a global issue , it should be stopped, but to crush the evil, we have to stop the supply, which means US should work against it mostly.
On June 22 I checked who was searching most for ‘Allah’ and I found that Pakistan has infact the highest number of people looking for Allah on Google worldwide. If you go to google trends and type in Allah, the results are clear Pakistan is the winner, followed by Indonesia and Morocco. Go to www.google.com/trends to verify this and pray a blessing on all Pakistanis who are maligned throughout the world for their love of Allah.
Ali Abbas wrote an article in response to Kelli Morgan and advice him to see the statistics (based on the same logic) for the number of rapes happening in USA – For information of general public, USA – the most advanced country in the world boasts figures that outshine every country in the world. Based on these reports, if I call USA – The United States of Rape, wouldn’t my American friends find it offensive?
Oh, wait, in the great USA number of abortions per day: Approximately 3,700. Which once again tops the world, so we don’t even have to change the ‘A’. USA can stand for United States of Abortions?
I think Blocking internet websites is not a solution, coz the internet websites can be renamed and made again, so the only solution to this issue is ‘stop the supply’…

Extremely false and a baseless article this is. I don’t understand the basis on which they came up with such details since Pakistan consists of poverty-stricken people who can’t even afford the basic necessities of life, let alone the luxury of internet. Truly baseless.
It is shock for us , certainly we need to now move ahead and look into the things in a different way and manner .. Some one from our age has to take the responisibilty , writing here and there , telling to people now does not make much difference to the auidence or people of Pakistan . Being a nation now it is our responsibility to lead from front and do what we intended to do and dream by our Quaid .. Rather than going for the PORN material , we should put our minds and souls on the different platform as this nation requires enterprnures , who can lead the youth and put them on the path which leads to their success as well as Nations as well.

We are living in a human society where there are sections and each section got its own theoretical approach towards its living standards. West and other non Muslim countries have their own norms and ideologies towards their own societies and towards Muslim countries. Now, how on earth we going to believe on the pro west media which have got their own set of ideologies and norms. Where was the media when Iraq was bombed in a day light without any guilt and crime. Why this media is not telling the rest of the world that how many innocent women’s been raped by the western armed forces in Iraq and how many kids and youths been killed and why? Why on earth Palestinians are suffering on their own land, and who is pulling them out of their houses in the middle of the night and beating, raping, and killing them in front of their families. Afghanistan being badly bombed brutalised and every effort is being made to eliminate all humans on that land.
Pakistan always remained a target for evilest who never tolerated the creation of land in the name of Islam. No one would tell us that who really involved in suicide bombing in Pakistan, but yes they would tell us who is watching what and how many times. This is mere propaganda against Pakistan and this has been remained a top agenda item for so called media gurus like Fox News. I don’t need to tell the world how the electronic media have developed a culture of lies and been puppets for the big guns. You don’t have to go too far, you can only observe the recent wars and the role of electronic media. Pakistan is “Pornistan” just because of searching porno on net? Then, what about those countries who are homes of porno industry? What about those nations who are doing roaring business on women’s body? Yes, Western media might have (mis)used this information to their purpose but the information is indeed correct. Pakistan has been on the top for a while on a number of such searches.
Anyone can access these statistics through Google Trends. For example, here is a link to an explicit search mentioned in the article that puts Pakistan at the top in the region-wise list.
Well an addition to the information of all of you. This survey/trends report is showing the searches done in english language. I mean doing search using english as the language because in our country (PK) no one use urdu for internet browsing, i guess the availaility of browsing in urdu is not that flexible.
However, if you use google translation and get the translation of all these terms (i.e. porn, sex , rape etc . . . . ) into arabic, hebrew, chinese, polish, danish etc etc and then try to see the “google trends” page by copy pasting these terms in the new language font you’ll be surprised that the people in other countries are also busy in adult searches some even more than pakistanis.
Please always try to defend PK and pakistanis and not just get contented on the research done by the westerners on our culture. Be Pakistani, by pakistani, live pakistani, die pakistani n proud to be a pakistani.

Factually the Fox News report is correct but the problem is, data is filtered in a way that Pakistan becomes No 1 on these keywords.
If you see the top cities instead of countries on the same keywords you may notice that “New Dehi” The Indian capital is on top on many search terms.
