Pakistan is a country where reaching to consensus on any issue is near to impossible. Pakistan is a country where politicians of various shades could be seen on same platform only on family matters, on occasions of marriages, in birthday parties, and in social gatherings of mutual interest etc, but not on national issues. They could also be seen united and standing up for the same cause, when the cause is related to their perks and remunerations fixed by the assemblies. Otherwise, it is near to impossible to see the politicians on the same ground.
Frankly speaking, it is also not needed that, politicians of all parties should be on the same table, thinking in the same line, and working for the same solution.
It is rather very strange that, almost all political commentators of the country, including very big names in the country’s journalism, over and over again, opine that all people of parties should sit together and find out the solutions for all problems facing by the country – be it Waziristan situation, bet it internal terrorism, be it today’s deluge. It is wrong for them, particularly on the part of the senior journalists, to suggest this type of working together, which is quite impossible, impracticable and would be time-wasting and useless.
What all these scholars and intelligentsia, should asked from the political parties, particularly the party in power, is to work properly, diligently and visibly, and really deliver something for the sake of the nation.
Once again, it is my request to the journalists and intelligentsia of the nation, “Please don’t suggest the politicians to sit together and get together, but do everything positive in your own sphere. If all the parties would act together, what the hack is that, they have formed different parties?”
Will any political scholar take note of this, please?
