Media as we know become popular to Pakistani nation right after the emergence of private news channels on television,it was the time when Pakistani nation was not much aware of the importance of news channels. but with the passage of time, these news channels became the part of every Pakistani’s life it charmed people a lot due to its different programmes like talk shows, public discussions, political interviews and different analysis,criticism,views of journalists on different events and different political activities. just like everything which has its positive and negative impacts Pakistani media also has it. indeed, its efforts and sacrifices can never be ignored in bringing down a notorious dictator, restoration of judges and bringing back the democracy to Pakistan.

But unfortunately Pakistani media in present is looking less inclined towards professional journalism. and its more towards business and money making,we see the examples of this every single day where every single news is categorized a breaking news, and every single activity political or social is portrayed as the issue of whole nation. for example, we all may have seen this breaking news flashing on some of our very famous news channels like “President Caravan has left president house for Garhi Khuda Baksh” this was the BREAKING NEWS. moreover, we daily see some most famous talk shows, i must mention here that indeed these talk shows appealed a lot to simple public of Pakistan and still it does. but what we gained out of it is not much appealing and pleasant either. the type of culture these Talk shows promoted in simple words is Senseless Arguing, trying to prove oneself right at any cost no matter if every body knows that you are wrong, and now i must throw some light on our some of famous Anchor persons, particularly for these talk shows, the behavior and talking style of these programme hosts was pretty much liked earlier by majority because it was something unusual for them, and unique things as we know get importance, but in real it is the most inappropriate way of discussing some political or social issue on television, we see our anchor persons trying to put words in the mouth of there participants, guests or political personalities plus interrupting them when they are talking and shouting at them, which gives an impression of Fish market instead of a decent talk show where people are gathered to sort out some problems social or political. here i must mention that this behavior of these Anchor persons is very much against the basic ethics of discussion which indeed needs not to be taught to them, they must be aware of it and in fact they are, but may be they do it because it brings them more money.

Now most importantly,we must see that what type of culture our people and particularly our youth is learning from such irresponsible acts of our Pakistani media. when a person sees his role models, talking like this on television e.g Law Minister Dr.Babar Awan trying to make Imran Khan (Chairperson of PTI) quite by start discussing about his failed married life, in a famous talk show, similarly Federal Minister Dr.Firdous Ashiq Awan after getting much hyper due to our some respective anchor person gets very personal and use highly inappropriate words on Television about her political rival Kashmala Tariq (Former member of PML(Q). This is just a glimpse of what these talk shows are producing, it seems like that now such programmes are only meant for making people fight, put blames on each other, a useless and nonconstructive argue for an hour or so which brings no solution to the problem. its the result of this unhealthy political talk shows culture that we see every one and anyone trying to be Hamid Mir, Javed Chauhdry and Shahid Masood. on every corner of street,every public place, we find people arguing on some senseless and useless political problem which actually has got nothing to do with there carrier and professional life,it seems like it has become the best time pass for our youth to argue and have nonconstructive debate about these political issues for hours.

Instead of focusing on there own future and carrier. i must clarify myself here that I’m not against people discussing different things, its good to share opinions, but it must be constructive and sum how solution providing,unlike typical news channels style where we see discussions getting personal, full of exaggeration and abusive sometimes.

conclusively, I must say that its the time for our media to recheck the way they portray things to stop promoting chaos and panic ,to behave responsibly, because we are a country where education level is below average, so people adopt things easily and what thy are told and what they watch, talking particularly about our anchor person i must say that they are the opinion makers of majority so for them its really a time to be honest with there profession, and to come clean because if we want a good nation and a good youth having positive approach, enthusiastic about there carriers and passionate about serving there country we need to promote positive thinking and culture of tolerance, and media particularly news channels is the best way to create this change, because in this country we have more news channels than any other entertainment channels.so people watch what they have. this increases the responsibility of media even more. its not too late to for media to make it up to this nation by contributing its efforts in bringing a positive change and by behaving responsibly.
