The three words in the heading can be read in continuity; war followed by defeat and then obvious humiliation. I intend to keep the three words separate, as our nation faces all three in different genres of life. These three words popped into my mind as I visited a local college and their Sports-Gala Banner displayed:
“After a humiliating defeat down-under. The spirit of Cricket will still be kept alive by us. Our heroes will be victorious again!!Come be a part of Inter-College Cricket Tournament”
I read the banner and so many things came up in my mind….
Aren’t we tired of being humiliated by the same heroes?… Are we in a complete state of denial?
..Are we over optimistic fools? Or maybe just plain idiots?
Anyhow as I walked away I overheard two people talking about the Waziristan war, as they were convinced that we could never win from the Local Huns, not far was a television set on a canteen that showed our worthy President protesting against the Mass Humiliation of Pakistan by the respectable English leadership.
If you live in Pakistan you should know how to swallow these three words with a decent painkiller of Optimism and swallow the above with a glass of gastro stricken water or as a beautiful Urdu idiom says “Chullu bhar pani” enough to drown and kill your self-respect.
But the problem remains who did this to us?
A nation so morally competent, that they sacrifice a generation to get a Homeland just on the name of Islam!! Mind you that nobody knew the future of this country but just for the love of a Muslim state did they sacrifice so much,and if they are looking down from the heavens..”We are sorry”.
But I cannot understand who gave this nation a fatal dose of “Compromise”?
Who poisoned them with this venomous conscious less Silence?
Whoever it was, I can’t reach out as they are sealed in the files and black diaries never to be opened or concealed in drapes of respect and false titles!
I, a youth of today see War, defeat and humiliation everywhere….
Be it the war of Words of the PCB, the defeat and humiliation of the cricket team.
Be it the row of the Supreme court and the Government, the defeat and humiliation of what are conveniently labeled as the strong “institutions”
How long can a Pakistani hold his head up and be optimistic while closing his eyes to the reasons behind every war, every defeat, leading to the inevitable humiliation.
How long Pakistan? …till you get tired of embracing these Carcasses of Heroism and Democracy blindly?
How long and how much humiliation would it take for you to shout, “STOP!!” and bar each and every rotten excuse of a Pakistani from dragging you again into a vicious cycle or war, defeat and Humiliation…….
………how long??
