The Full Body Security Scanners (also called Nude-body scanners) are being installed at various airports in United States and Europe. Several human rights and religious groups have expressed their concerns and disapproval of such scanners on the grounds of violation of privacy and human dignity.
Full-body scanners may damage human DNA
The Fiqh Council of North America (FCNA) emphasizes that a general and public use of such scanners is against the teachings of Islam, natural law and all religions and cultures that stand for decency and modesty.
It is a violation of clear Islamic teachings that men or women be seen naked by other men and women. Islam highly emphasizes `haya’ (modesty) and considers it part of faith.
The Qur’an has commanded the believers, both men and women, to cover their private parts. Human beings are urged to be modest in their dress.
See Holy Quran, 7:26-27; 24:30-31; 33:59. Exception to this rule can be made in case of extreme necessity, such as medical treatment, to investigate a crime or in a situation of imminent danger. Continue reading »
Many religious activities are simple ritualism which are of no great benefit to the one who practice these and to the society as a whole. The Quran-e-Majeed, the last and final and absolutely protected divine book in letter by letter and word by word regards these man made practices as a great burden on the shoulders of the man. One of the important function of the true divine religion is to remove this burden. This in turns make human beings light and they can fly high.
Many Muslims who are praying are actually performing ritual prayers without the presence of heart and mind. As a result they get very little if any thing from their regular congregational prayers called As-Salah. For females there is no requirement to go to Masjid and attend congregational paryers. Their As-Salah could be at their homes or offices (If they are working women). There are active religious movements which support such practice. Take the example of Tbaleeghi Jamat which deprives its followers active learning of Quranic Arabic and even go to the extent of shutting the microphone when Quran-e-Majeed is recited.
Quran-e-Majeed calls people who do not use their brain and senses as the worst animal. Even during the early time of the Prophet (PBUH) when alcohol was not prohibited Quran clearly says do not go to prayers until you understand what you say. Recitation of Quran-e-Majeeed with full understanding of it is essential part of As-Salah. Recitations of Quran in the Fajr (Dawn) Salah is equated as Salah as Quran tells us that such recitation is witnessed (by the angels). By understanding the Quranic Arabic, the Salah becoems alive and provide great tranquility and peace to the mind. It is a source of immense strength and a cure for many psychological disorders including anxiety and depression etc. Continue reading »
In this day and time when the world is torn across many made lines, borders, positions and beliefs it is incumbent on all of us to find the common points of agreement. Many wars and hatred are based on lack of knowledge and ill founded wrong perceptions about others. Many Christians are unaware of the very high place and status of Jesus (peace be upon him) in Islam. Not only Jesus but his virgin mother Mary and her close relatives have very respected and honored position in Islam. Quran, the divine book of Muslims which had been protected letter by letter, word by word over about 1450 years in its original language without losing it’s beauty and understanding has two chapters titled after the family of Mary. 3rd Surah (Chapter) of Quran is titled Al-e-Imran referring to the tribe of Mary. Then we have Surah titled Maryam (Mary). As a matter of fact there is no better place to visit, meet and see Jesus and his mother than Quran.
No person can be a Muslim without believing in Jesus (Peace be upon him). The position of Jesus (PBUH) is quite accurate and authentic in Islam. It is midway between Judaism and Christianity. Interestingly Quran regards true followers of Moses and Jesus (Peace be upon them) as Muslims! The central figure is the Prophet Abraham (Ibrahim) (PBUH) who was the grand father of Moses, Jesus and Muhammad (PBUT). Muslims are ordered to follow the path of Prophet Abraham who was a true Muslim i.e. the obedient of the God. Continue reading »
First I would like to tell you that I am writing this post in response to the post “Pakistani Saints Go Online” on Propakistani.pk. In that post writer mention what is going on and how they are using social network sites to promote their word and other different activities online like videos of urs, qawalies and ziker-o-dua. I still remember when I came to know this I was also surprised but it is the need of today’s world.
As far as my knowledge is concerned Dawate Islami was the first site to offer Islamic knowledge to Muslim Ummah. While going online they are able to send their message to 57 countries of the world. Let me go in the history Dr. Tahir ul Qadri was the first person who started giving lectures on TV Media and he got very good response. Most of our Ulama Sahibs don’t agree to come on TV and other media (Internet, print media etc) because of restrictions in Islam. (I am not discussing whether its haram or halal to come up on tv and other media channels). But with the passage of time they need this because people of their social network were start moving into different parts of the world and because of this they had not contact with each other only telephone was the source for getting in contact with each other, and due to expensive calls most of the people didn’t afford it.
Data Darbar - Lahore, Pakistan
