What you are thinking while looking the above image? This is the screen shot from iTunes (Apple’s App store) and you will be surprised to know that since November 19, 2009. This Application proves to be the most downloaded paid application on iTunes. When I read this news I was quite excited to know about this application. But when I came to know the reality I went mad WTF is going on here, do you know this application ‘Pakistani Girls’ contains pictures of those innocents who unknowingly left their snaps on public profiles. These all are the natural pictures of Pakistani girls which are publicly available on different social networking sites like facebook, myspace, hi5 and image hosting websites like flicker etc.

Now the question is who developed this app? The answer is iHustle Apps, a US based company that specialized in apple pictorial software, once downloaded your apple devices will synchronize thousands of pictures available on iHustle servers. We couldn’t find their location – as company is registered against fake address. They have a number given on their website, which is apparently not a landline, maybe its skype in number – its 001-347-948-7853. Continue reading »

Always nice for a reporter to bump into a developer who builds mobile applications for startups and gives you a live preview and details of yet-to-be-announced stuff. No worries, he has permission to talk about the apps (he thinks). There are different rumors that most exciting apps will join Android market soon, TechCrunch reported that the man Julián Moreno from development house Droiders, and him and his team have been hacking away at some fine apps for the Android platform.

android Let me start from a cool application which is BookDroid, which is essentially a mobile ebook reader for any written work that can be found in Google Books. Coolness: you can use your phone’s camera to capture a book label and it will automatically detect the ISBN and crawl the database for the digital version.

rummbleAlso in the works is an Android app for Rummble, a location-aware social search and discovery engine for places that hails from the UK but delivers worldwide. Continue reading »

While reading New York Time I found very interesting article by BOB TEDESCHI about mobile apps. He wrote that CELLPHONES are no longer just for talking, texting and shooting snapshots. The arrival of cellphone apps, driven at first by the iPhone, has led to a proliferation of programs that put a universe of user-friendly services at your fingertips. You can identify a song, listen to music selected to suit your personal taste, buy concert tickets, find medical advice and stay connected to various social media, all at no extra cost.

11apps190ELECTRONIC EAR FOR MUSIC Shazam might be the most shown-off cellphone app these days. Open the program, hold it up to a speaker and Shazam will deliver the song name, artist and album — then put you within one click of buying the song or reading the liner notes. The program is available for iPhones, the T-Mobile G1 and Android phones, and BlackBerrys, and it’s free.

USER-TAILORED TUNES Pandora is one of the most addictive pieces of software known to man. Create a playlist with a few selections, and Pandora infers your musical tastes and builds you a personalized radio station. Rate or reject new songs and the station gets smarter and better. The app works on BlackBerrys, iPhones and Windows Mobile phones, and it is free.

ONSCREEN FIRST AID Heading off to an unfamiliar place for vacation? iTriage could save your life. The app helps you diagnose a medical condition by searching through symptom sets, then identifies the most suitable health care options in your area. Future versions of the app will also offer cost estimates for treating your problem and guidance on insurance benefits. This free app is available on iPhones, and can be downloaded (with more work) to other mobile phones.
