What you are thinking while looking the above image? This is the screen shot from iTunes (Apple’s App store) and you will be surprised to know that since November 19, 2009. This Application proves to be the most downloaded paid application on iTunes. When I read this news I was quite excited to know about this application. But when I came to know the reality I went mad WTF is going on here, do you know this application ‘Pakistani Girls’ contains pictures of those innocents who unknowingly left their snaps on public profiles. These all are the natural pictures of Pakistani girls which are publicly available on different social networking sites like facebook, myspace, hi5 and image hosting websites like flicker etc.
Now the question is who developed this app? The answer is iHustle Apps, a US based company that specialized in apple pictorial software, once downloaded your apple devices will synchronize thousands of pictures available on iHustle servers. We couldn’t find their location – as company is registered against fake address. They have a number given on their website, which is apparently not a landline, maybe its skype in number – its 001-347-948-7853. Continue reading »

There are different rumors that AT&T might be using the 802.21 protocol to relax the pressure put on their 3G network by the iPhone. The new iPhone 3.0 OS software contains the ability for iPhones to autoswitch from 3G to Wifi when an AT&T Wifi network is in range, without user intervention.
Yesterday AT&T made a statement saying they would allow “seamless transition from their 3G network to any one of their 20,000 Wifi wireless hotspots”. While the IEEE protocol wasn’t stated, it is likely the way that the iPhones will switch back and forth between 3G and Wifi.
There is always the possibility that they are doing “dumb handoffs” as well which would just be like when a normal iPhone enters an area which a recognized network is present. The iPhone finds the network, knows the password and switches over.
Well 802.21 is an IEEE emerging standard. The standard supports algorithms enabling seamless handover between networks of the same type as well as handover between different network types also called Media independent handover (MIH) or vertical handover. The standard provides information to allow handing over to and from cellular, GSM, GPRS, WiFi, Bluetooth, 802.11 and 802.16 networks through different handover mechanisms. Continue reading »

According to the latest leaks, Verizon and Apple are in discussions regarding a new iPhone for the carrier, which would be launched in 2010. USA Today quote “people familiar with the situation” who claim discussions between Steve Jobs and Verizon began a few months ago.
While USA Today suggest a CDMA iPhone would be the likely result, Apple’s recent financial conference call would seem to debunk that. During the call, COO Tim Cook dismissed talk of a CDMA iPhone because the CDMA standard is predominantly a US specification. Instead, Apple want “one phone for the whole world”.
What that could indicate, therefore, is a LTE (Long Term Evolution) iPhone, just in time to spearhead Verizon’s new LTE network set to launch in 2010. LTE has been adopted by not only Verizon but other US carriers – including AT&T – as well as networks worldwide, in keeping with Apple’s “one phone” intentions. What remains to be seen is how AT&T might react to the possibility of a super-fast new iPhone bypassing their exclusivity. Here is PCmag report:
