Samsung has unveiled the Samsung Pixon12 – the world’s first 12-megapixel camera phone with a full touchscreen.
The Pixon12, or M8910, is a coming-soon handset with a 3.1-inch AMOLED screen with 10,000:1 contrast ratio and a 28mm wide angle lens.
Apparently a response to “pressing consumer need” for such a device, the Pixon12 gets a dedicated “Camera Power Key” for one-touch access to the camera function and can snap a pic every 2 seconds and offers a Xenon flash.
The Pixon12 offers touchscreen controlled auto-focus tracking, where users can select a focus point with the touch of a finger, after which the AF function will automatically follow the object, while the Smart Auto feature changes the scene and mode based on its object, background and lighting.
Other specs for the quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE phone include HSUPA, Wi-Fi, up to 16GB memory via MicroSD card, GPS, an FM radio and 720 x 480 video capture at 30fps.
Samsung says the Samsung Pixon12 will be available from end of June in Europe – other regions in August.

iPhone 3g Gold just hits the market lets have an over view of it. Goldstriker has struck the right cords (for a previleged few) many times before, but it seems that they have outdone themselves this innings. They have now replaced the whole body (not just the plating, mind) of an iPhone 3G with solid 22-carat gold and added 53 exquisite VVS1 diamonds to the Apple logo found on the back. It took four craftsmen and months of intricate work by hand to finally get this iPhone blinged out and needless to say, all that hard work don’t come cheap. This special iPhone 3G goes for no less than a staggering £22,995, roughly $34k or a kid’s college education. We are not sure if this includes an early shot at iPhone 3.0 OS, but who cares as long as it shiny all over right?
