First Pakistan-made cell phone would be available in the market within a year, Secretary of the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecom Naguibullah Malik has said.
Talking to APP, he said: “Dialogue with China and British companies in this regard is underway and the first made-in-Pakistan mobile handset would be available in the market within a year.” To a question, he said the government was taking all possible measures to boost the IT sector. The secretary said the government was well aware of the problems being faced by the IT sector. “We will address all the problems of the IT sector,” he added.
Malik said for the promotion of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector, there was a need for reaching a consensus among the government, IT industry, Telcos and academia to devise effective strategies for the best utilisation of available opportunities. He said focus on the IT and Telecom education, research, entrepreneurship and local industries could boost the ICT sector.

PTA launched Sim Information System few months before which helps a lot to block illegal sims issued against cnic. Most of the people don’t know how to block sims, what is the procedure of blocking illegal sims?which document is required? etc etc( these are the questions comes in my mind). Then I send an email to PTA Complaints Dept. I receive the following reply (detailed document embedded below – click on the image to view enlarge). I hope this will help you as well.

Another good step from Punjab Government, though this project was pending since 2 years but now it is finalized and Launched. In past, we use to go to the registration office to get information against the registration number of any car to see if the car was legal or not. It was an hectic process and consumed a lot of time and resources. And also you have to pay some sort of refreshment money (rishwat) to clerks and some officials as well but now, for the first time in Pakistan, Government of Punjab has launched an Online Vehicle Tracking system.
It is launched by the Motor Transport Management Information System (MTMIS), a division of the Punjab Government. Using this service; now, you can get information against the registration number of the car (currently only for Punjab registered vehicles).
