Pakistani Movies Releasing in 2016



This is now very clear that Pakistani cinema has been completely transformed after the releases and hits in 2015 movies like Manto and others like Jawani Phir Nahi Ani or Karachi se Lahore have been a boost to Pakistani Film Industry. These releases have also motivated the public to visit cinemas and watch local movies. With such an awesome turn around in 2015 people are anxiously waiting for the mega releases in 2016. Actors have been motivated to do amazing performances for the people of Pakistan. The movies have been promoted nation wide and cinemas are filled with local movies on screens and people rushing towards box offices for bookings. Local premiers have been amazing people love interacting with their favorite artists. 2016 is also going to be a blockbuster year for Pakistani cinema as there are a total of 31 released and lined up all together.

We will be listing the movies with respect to their release dates, so here we go to the roller coaster of Pakistani movies 2016.

1. HO MANN JAHAAN

Released on January 1st, 2016 Ho Mann Jahaan has won hearts all over Pakistan and the artists have been interacting in such a friendly way through out their promotions. It has started the year with such positive ope and beginning for Pakistani film industry.

The movie is based on youngsters and the struggles they face in the world today. The film has storyline about friendship and also passion for music. The movie was a big hit as it has been released on new years along with a very positive thing that its song “Shakar Wandan” was the center of attention by the weddings of year 2016.

2. REVENGE OF THE WORTHLESS

Released on January 15th, 2016 the film is directed by Jamal Shah which is a name that needs no introduction in Pakistani Industry, the man is known for his art and quality of work. The film is based on the true situation faced by the land and people of Sawat Pakistan.

3. HIJRAT

Released on January 21, 2016 the movie is about the life of Afghan refugees, and their journey through out war and then migration. This is basically a romantic film.

4. MAH-E-MEER

Mah-e-Meer is to be released in May 2016. The film is basically a biographic film on the life of Meer Taqi Meer. The film is directed by Anjum Shahzad, produced by Khurram Rana and Sahir Rasheed.

Cast Includes: Fahad Mustafa, Iman Ali, Sanam Saeed, Manzar Sehbai, Alyy Khan

The film is based on the life incidents of the famous poet how he handled the conflicts with the rest of the world and how he turned all of it into his poetic versions. The role is played by the very talented Fahad Mustaffa. The trailer is impressive enough to be waiting for the film.

5.YALGHAAR

The movie has been released on 3rd February 2016 . Shan plays the lead role of the film. Shan is by far the most talented and versatile actor produced in Pakistan. It is one of thoe films which have done great business in Pakistan.

The movie has focused on the history of Pakistan and the strength  of Pakistanis. The movie has support by ISPR and Pakistan Airforce. This is expected to be somehow different from other history telling movies as it will highlight facts that have always been missed out.

The movie has been delayed due to political conditions of the country but is all set to be released in 2016. The story revolves around a middle age man from Pakhtun Khawa and a young urban city-slicker who accidentally become friends. The movie is a comedy yet has a message for the audience too.

The movie is directed by Shamoon Abbassi. Gidh is somewhat an action and romantic film which is based on the lives of people from entertainment industry and how it is different from the way it looks in a bird’s eye view.

9. DANCE KAHANI

Dance Kahani is going to be Pakistan’s first dance film which is, featuring a western lead actress, Madeleine Hanna who would be playing the lead role by the name Nuzhat/Nizzy. The film is written and directed by Omar Hassan. The film revolves around Nizzy who is a British born Pakistani girl who comes to Pakistan with a dream of becoming a professional ballerina and deals with local Pakistani culture the movie is shot mostly in Karachi. The movie is expected to release in 2016.

10. DOBARA PHIR SE

The movie is an ARY film and is directed by Mahreen Jabbar. The film is based on story about growing up and second chances in life as obvious by the name. The films has been mostly shot internationally and includes heavy cast which makes it one of the most awaited and expected to do great business films.

11. ISHQ 2020

The film includes new cast and is directed by Najaf Bilgrami. The film will be sht locally and is expected to be released in 2016. It is going to be a love triangle film and will be very adventurous and yet interesting based on the relations on the time.

12. SAYYAN

The movie is based on a true life story and is said to mark an obvious shift in the perception about Pakistani Film industry. The film seems like a one man show as it is directed by Faysal Abbas and the music is also composed by him.

13. MAULA JATT-2

This movie is going to be squeal to the classic Pakistani Sultan Rahi’s released in 1979. This is an action drama film which is written and produced by Bilal Lashari. The movie is expected to be released in 2016 lets wait and see if this film maintains the class of the original Maula Jutt.

14. SIKANDER

This film is special due to another reason apart from a quality production, this is a directorial debut of Moammar Rana. The movie is a romantic action film which has a collection of music by leading Pakistani singers. It includes total of seven songs and is expected to release in 2016.

 15. BACHAANA

Bachaana is a film based on a love story which has the twist of across the border girl which comes to Pakistan and what consequences she faces and how she is treated in Pakistan and there she meets Mohib who is her companion throughout the journey,

These are some of the films released or expected to release in 2016 we hope that this year will also close with a jam pack year when it comes to entertainment and film industry even better than the last year. Pakistani Industry is flourishing and competing with Bollywood in many aspects, we might be way behind but we are coping up with speed.
